Senior Sustainability Consultant Carole Dubois will join Cotton Incorporated, biov8tion and Hohenstein Institute America in a panel discussion on textile microfiber pollution. In addition to an overview of the issue, the session will highlight new and emerging solutions — including the Plastic Leak Project — designed to develop a standardized method of measuring textile microfibers in aquatic environments, understand their rate of release, and assess their impact on freshwater, saltwater and wastewater environments.

Quantis apparel sector lead Angela Adams and Forum for the Future CEO Sally Uren will take a deep dive into the current and future trends and impacts in the global apparel industry and explore the main levers for action to help inform strategy and drive change. The breakout session will feature the findings of the Measuring Fashion: Insights from the Environmental Impact of the Global Apparel and Footwear Industries study (Quantis) and Future of Sustainability 2018 — Living in Non-Linear Times (Forum of the Future).
